Morley’s Final Catalogue: quite common everywhere, and at Monks Soham light

Recent Status: A common species recorded across Suffolk.

Life Style: The moth is single brooded flying in mid-summer and coming to light. The larvae feed on a wide variety of herbaceous and shrubby plants. They pass the winter in a silken hibernaculum and pupate after resuming feeding during late spring.

Identification: Udea prunalis is a mid-grey or grey brown moth weakly marked darker with dark stigmata and three or four pale spots on the apical third of the costa. The hindwings are paler. Legs are almost white.
