Recent Status: One of the commonest of the Grass Moths across Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying during summer peaking during June and often the earliest Grass Moth to fly during the year. The larvae feed at the base of grasses from silken galleries.

Identification: Crambus lathoniellus has a narrow central streak with a spur on the dorsal edge and narrows evenly from the spur to a point before the interruption. There is a prominent white costal streak and other white costal marks beyond. The female forewing ground colour is paler than the male. The male is streaked with dark or leaden scales.
