Morley’s Final Catalogue: Frequent among gorse in August. Bred at Ipswich in 1933 (Whit.); Aldeburgh, Leiston, Southwold (Ctw); Lowestoft (J. Sang); in Mr. Doughty's Gorleston house in 1933 (Mly). Tuddenham in the Breck (Waters).

Recent Status: Common in Breckland and Sandlings.

Life Style: Single brooded and coming to light from late June until October. The larvae bore into flower buds to feed on Cytisus and Ulex, occasionally on Lupinus arboreus and Genista tinctoria. They pupate in a loose cocoon on the ground.

Identification: The moth is a varied shade of brown or fuscous with two diffuse dark streaks along the wing, one from the base and dark spots around the wing tip. More Info
