Morley’s Final Catalogue: On Atriplex and Chenopodium; not rare with us. Beaten from bushes in the Bramford chalk-pits on 8 July 1904 (Mly); one at Waldringfield in 1930 (Wir); plentiful all round Ipswich (Whit). Brandon (Wrn).

Recent Status: Very few records for this day flying species. Recorded more readily as a leaf mine.

Life Style: The moth is a day-flying species with two or three broods a year. The larvae mine in leaves of Atriplex and Chenopodium species. They form a gallery back and forth across the leaf and will move between leaves. The autumn brood will hibernate in a cocoon. They pupate in a cocoon on the ground.

Identification: An attractively marked small Gelechiid moth. The forewing is orange with the costa and termen black. There are silver marks edged with black, one of these is a central fascia the others are longitudinal streaks. More Info
