Recent Status: Well distributed in Suffolk but not common.

Life Style: The species is double brooded flying during April, May and August. The larvae mine leaves of Rubus caesius and also other Rubus species, Agrimonia, Geum and Fragaria.

Identification: The moth has a strong silver or gold fascia. Beyond it is deep purple fuscous. Basally to it is copper purple and golden at the base and thorax. The cilia are shining grey. The head tuft is black, collar dark fuscous and scape white. The male has a brown face.
The larvae create a long whitish gallery with a narrow central frass line. The gallery often follows a leaf margin or vein. More Info
