Morley’s Final Catalogue: Abundant on Prunus padus. Not uncommön round Ipswich; Orford, Thorp; bred from Prunus at Monks Soham, where it also flies to light, and at Creeting; common on Gorleston palings; Syleham, Brandon.

Recent Status: A common species in Suffolk. It also arrives as an immigrant.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying from May to August. The larvae feed on Prunus padus.

Identification: The moth has significantly more and smaller black spots than other species in the genus.
The young larvae hibernate and in spring, mine into young shoots before feeding externally on the leaves from a web. The larvae are grey green with black head, prothoracic plate and spots. They pupate in a white cocoon in the web.
