Morley’s Final Catalogue: Usually common on honeysuckle. One at Ipswich on 22 July 1898 (Pyett); common at Bentley, Nacton, Hemley, Eyke, 1931-5, bred (Whit.); Leiston (Grey); in cop. among honeysuckle in Monks Soham garden as late as 5 October 1915 (Mly).

Recent Status: A common species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A triple brooded species that has been found during every month of the year. It is thought that the adult moth over winters. The larvae feed on Lonicera, Symphoricarpos and Leycesteria. They pupate within a chamber in the larval habitation.

Identification: The moth has a very distinctive patterning that cannot be mistaken.
The larvae create a distinctive blister blotch on the underside of a leaf that at maturity is large and folded diagonally across the mine causing considerable distortion of the leaf. There are prominent creases and the exposed lower epidermis is white. More Info
