Morley’s Final Catalogue: At Stowmarket by the Bishop, who bred it in 1932-5.

Recent Status: A very rare species nationally and in Suffolk.

Life Style: A double brooded species that has been recorded in May, June and August. The larvae feed on Salix viminalis but it has also been considered to use other species occasionally. The larvae pupate in the larval habitation without a cocoon in contrast to P. viminiella. The pupal stage passes the winter.

Identification: The moth has a dull brown ground colour with white markings. There are three evenly spaced dorsal marks and a basal streak that touches the apex of the first dorsal mark. There are four narrow costal marks the first of which joins the second dorsal mark. There is a diffuse terminal mark. More Info
The larvae create a small blister blotch at a leaf edge close to the base that causes the leaf edge to curl over. More Info

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
