Morley’s Final Catalogue: Swept from Hypericum in Bentley Woods on 3 August 1896; Corton cliff in August 1908 (Mly); Blundeston marshes 1936 (D). One at Tuddenham on the Breck in July 1896 (A. Waters); Worlington in 1934 (Whit.).

Recent Status: There are no recent records.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying in the morning sunshine during July to September. The larvae mine leaves and stems of grasses. They pupate in a white silken cocoon on the foodplant between leaves.

Identification: O. urella has shaggy scales wings but no so strongly as O. taurella does. The antennae of the female have erect scales on the flagellum that are less than three times the width of the flagellum and the male has the flagellum thickened with appressed scales. O urella is overall paler than the other Ochsenheimeria species. More Info
