Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: The moth may have two or more broods in the year depending on the habitat. The larvae feed on animal and vegetable detritus primarily in bird’s nests in tree holes or wooden nest boxes, pigeon and poultry houses. They have also been reported indoors.

Identification: This species is smoother less marked than T. pellionella and usually only shows the larger spot in the terminal third of the forewing. Identification can be confirmed by genitalia dissection. More Info
