Caradja, 19161396 / 63.039

Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not listed.

A E Aston 1961 Auriferous Pearl. H. I. Horsfall took this at light at Cliff House, Dunwich on some occasion between 1909 and 1939 (Trans. S.N.S., Vol, IV, pt. II, p. 131).

Recent Status: A moth with a restricted UK distribution in southern England that can be captured as a rare immigrant which has resulted in the single Suffolk record.

Identification: The bright light ochre wings are marked dark brown. A sub-terminal line is sometimes reduced to dots. The post median line is indent beneath the reniform stigma before reaching the dorsum. The reniform, orbicular and notably a claviform stigma are outlined. There is a pre median line and a dark streak just below the costa. There is no similar British species that shows a claviform stigma.
