Evergestis extimalis

Morley’s Final Catalogue: Found at Tuddenham in 1898 by Sparke, in 1900 by Norgate and him, subsequently common there (Ent. Oct. 1901); also there by Nurse (I.e. 1911, 221); Thetford in August 1931.

Recent Status: Appearing to favour lighter land areas in Suffolk. It can be common in some locations.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying during summer and coming to light. The larvae overwinter. The larvae feed on the shoots, flowers and fruits of certain Brassicaceae species. They pupate on or under the ground in a cocoon.

Identification: A pale yellowish or cream forewing with fine crosslines marked in joined spots. There is then a dark suffusion terminally linked in with a large diffuse spot between it and the post median line. There are no confusion species.
