Recent Status: A common species in Suffolk,

Life Style: A single brooded species with a day flying male that will come to light. It can be found from June to September. The larvae feed inside acorns and sweet chestnuts. They leave the seed fully grown after it has fallen to hibernate in a cocoon in which they later pupate.
