Status
Morley’s Final Catalogue: Bentley Woods on gravel in May 1930 (Mly); Leiston (Grey) ; Southwold (Ctw); Lowestoft (Bd). Frequently seen on the Breck at Freckenham, Brandon, &c. (Mly).

Recent Status: A common species on lighter land areas of Suffolk.

Life Style: A double brooded summer flying species. It flies by day and night and comes to light. The larvae feed from a silken tube placed on the ground and part way upon Rumex acetosella. The larvae hibernate. They pupate in the larval habitation.

Identification: The moth is a relatively broad winged Gelechiid with blue or brown tinged dark grey forewings with inter-vein dark (usually black) shading. The extent of other markings is variable. There may be an ochre or white tornal spot and an opposing one on the costa. There may be ochre or white spots before the black spots on the termen and small ochre or white spots in the black inter-vein shading most commonly in the disc and above the dorsum in the basal half.
