Morley's Final Catalogue: Taken in Suffolk (Stephens 1829); Suffolk (Wood's Index). Common though the last may be, this species far surpasses them in downright ubiquity.
Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single-brooded.
Identification: Marbled minor, Tawny marbled minor and Rufous minor are all highly variable species in size and patterning. The only reliable way to separate these species is by dissection, which is quite easy in the males.
If no dissection is undertaken moths should only be recorded as Marbled minor aggregate.
