Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single-brooded. A larva was found inside the seedhead of Ploughman's spikenard in October 2013 at Thurston.
Identification: Large Nutmeg has a much more marbled forewing and lacks the obvious black branched basal forewing streak. Dusky brocade is a greyer moth.
Habitat: A wide variety of grassy habitats including gardens.Recorded in 54 (93%) of 58 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1940. Last Recorded in 2023. |
