Recent Status: A species that has been extending its range in the UK and is well established in the east of Suffolk. It has been recorded in West Suffolk.
Life Style: A single brooded species that flies at night and comes to light. The larvae feed from extensive webbing on Ulex species. The larvae hibernate and pupate at the feeding location during spring.
Identification: Pempelia genistella is a distinctive light brown species with variable black scaling on the veins and white between the veins. There is a black pre and post median line, discal spot and a small raised patch basad to the pre median line. The palps are erect.  | Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required. | |
