Status
Morley’s Final Catalogue: Found nowhere with us but in Breck at Tuddenham (Wrn) before 1890. Genista tinctoria is very local in Suffolk.

Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying in mid-summer. The larvae feed from spinnings on a variety of herbaceous and woody species amongst which are listed, Filipendula ulmaria, Genista tinctoria, Hieracium, Lotus, Orchis, Origanum and Plantago.

Identification: This species is similar to C. cespitana. Both are characterised by the distal edge of the central band, which from the costa is curved to the rear then incised, the second projection is narrow and long and the band then narrows towards the dorsum. C. cespitana is larger at 15 to 19 mm wingspan and with a relatively broader wing to that of C. rivulana at 12 to 16 mm. C. rivulana is always clearly marked where-as C. cespitana makings may be more diffuse, sometimes considerably so. http://www.lepiforum.de/lepiwiki.pl?Celypha_Rivulana
