Morley's Final Catalogue: Not listed. First county record was in the 1940s.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very local. Mainly a woodland species in Suffolk.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: The November moth group are very difficult to seperate on wing markings alone. The end of the abdomen needs to be checked - this can be done without killing the moths by gently brushing off the scales and comparing with the photo shown on this page which shows the differences. Females cannot be readily identified, even with dissection.
Any records which haven't had abdomens checked will need to be recorded as aggregates.

Habitat: Woodland.

Verification Grade Comment: Very difficult to separate on markings alone.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Recorded in 21 (36%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
