Morley’s Final Catalogue: Not listed. The Nepticulids were not extensively studied and only 21 are listed.

Recent Status: A common species in Britain but poorly recorded in Suffolk.

Life Style: A double brooded species flying from April to September and comes readily to light. The larvae mine leaves of deciduous Quercus species.

Identification: The moth is unicolorous bronze brown. The head tuft ranges from dull brown to orange and the collar and scape are whitish. Genitalia dissection is required for identification. More Info
The larva creates a gallery from an ovum on either side of the leaf. The mines vary seasonally and are indistinguishable from those of several other oak feeding Nepticulidae. More Info

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
