Morley’s Final Catalogue: A very local kind, in July. It is thought by Bloomiield possible that the record from Leiston before 1890 (Grey) may actually refer to the next species. Not noted later. [The present species was erroneously recorded from Ipswich, two or three examples a day in August 1930, as P. junctella (Trans. SNS. i, 108).]

Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded summer flying species that comes to light. The larvae feed on shoots, flowers and seed capsules of Cerastium fontanum and Stellaria media during the spring following oviposition. They pupate in a cocoon on the ground.

Identification: This species has some resemblance to the commoner C. marmorea but does not show the paler area from above so clearly and has a stronger black oblique bar from the costa at one quarter. More Info Genitalia dissection is required for Suffolk records. More Info
