Bouché, 1834354 / 15.076

Morley’s Final Catalogue: Another honeysuckle-species. Recorded with us from only Nacton, where it was bred in 1934 (Whit.), Flixton after 1890 (Ctw) and Fritton in 1936 (Gd).

Recent Status: A rare species in Suffolk.

Life Style: A double brooded species that has been recorded during May, July and August. The larvae feed on Lonicera species but also Symphoriocarpos and Leycestria. They pupate in a hard brown cocoon in the larval habitation. The pupal stage passes the winter.

Identification: The adult moth normally has two complete fascia narrowly dark edged basally, that are slightly angled or curved, followed by an opposed pair of marks. Occasionally the second fascia is interrupted. The marks beyond the opposed pair are not strong. There is no terminal spot but there is strong black shading between the opposing pairs. There is a short basal streak.
The larvae create a large blister blotch on the underside of a leaf. More Info

Verification Grade Comment: Photo/leaf or examine puparium cremasters

Mine: Either the leaf or a good photograph required
