Acrocercops brongniardella

Morley’s Final Catalogue: Found at Brandon, Tuddenham and larvae very abundant at Herringswell before 1890 (Warren).

Recent Status: Frequent across Suffolk.

Life Style: Can be found throughout the year day and night and comes to light. The larvae are leaf miners on Quercus.

Identification: A narrow winged Gracillarid at 5 mm length resting erect on the front legs. The moth has a pattern of narrow pale oblique bars against a dark wing that allow the moth to be identified. The larval mine is on the upper surface of the leaf. It is a contorted narrow gallery ending in a large blotch. More Info
