Recent Status: A rare immigrant species that has been captured on Orfordness.

Life Style: In Europe the moth is triple brooded flying during March, August and October. The larvae feed on Chaenorhinum rubrifolium that does not grow in Britain.

Identification: The moth is a plain grey brown colour with a large black spot at the cleft. It has a whitish saddle but is otherwise most similar to S. bipunctidactyla. If this species is suspected it can be confirmed by genitalia dissection More Info
