Status
Morley’s Final Catalogue: Frequent in salt-marshes of the Deben at Hemley (Wir, Trans, i, 108 & ii, 89) and many in August 1932 (Mly); Hollesley (Whit).

Recent Status: Common on Suffolk’s salt-marshes. Can also wander inland.

Life Style: A double brooded species flying by day and night and coming to light. The larvae feed from a silken tube on the flower and seed heads of Armeria maritima and Limonium vulgare. They pupate in the larval habitation.

Identification: A small narrow winged species with a two tone brown wing with the costal third darker. There are five silvery fasciae with the final one the strongest and one or two black spots placed centrally along the wing. There are pale spots on the termen and terminal quarter of the costa. The antennae, palps and legs are striped.
