Morley’s Final Catalogue: Distributed over all the County. Copdock, Ipswich, Bramford; at Monks Soham light from 9 August through Nov. Dec. Jan. Feb. and March up to 18 April (Mly); Southwold, Lowestoft, Gorleston. Mildenhall in 1931 (E. A. Elliott).

Recent Status: Regularly recorded in Suffolk

Life Style: A single brooded species that hibernates. It flies at night and comes to light. The larvae initially mine and then feed from a web on the underside or from a spun rolled leaf of Centaurea, Cirsium, Arctium or Serratula. It pupates in a cocoon on the ground.

Identification: This species lacks a basal dash. The forewing is pale ochre variably, sometimes densely, speckled darker. It usually shows spots on the termen and the Agonopterix twin spots and central suffuse spot. There is a form with a contrasting dark thorax.
