Morley's Final Catalogue: Abundant throughout the County, especially on ragwort flowers in August: Tostock by Tuck.
Recent Suffolk Status: Common. The commonest species of Ear moth to be found inland in the county.
Life history: Single-brooded. Records from June in Suffolk.
Identification: The smallest of the Ear species that occur in the county. The main species recorded inland, although Saltern ear is known to wander away from the coast so care is needed. The best method to separate the Ear species is by dissection.
