Morley's Final Catalogue: Not noted from the county in Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status: Rare immigrant.

There are three modern records of Angle-striped Sallow in Suffolk, 2011 in the Woodbridge area (J. Higgott) and two in 2018 from Dunwich (P. Kitchener) and Bawdsey (M.Deans).

Resident populations of this species are restricted to central England and Scotland, feeding on Birch (Betula).

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Orange sallow lacks the dark kidney mark of Angle-striped sallow. Dun-bar lacks the obvious angled cross line and is a smaller species.

Habitat: Moorland and open woodland.
