Morley's Final Catalogue: Not very rare, but sporadic and occurring singly; wild lime trees need searching. Copdock in 1895 (Hkg); Bentley Woods, in the '80's (Ml) and on sugar in September 1893 (Mly); Waldringfield, one in 1893 (Wlr); Playford (Gr); Martlesham (D); Needham (L); several imagines at Polstead in 1930 (Harwood); larvae commonly near Timworth in 1911 (Nurse); Downham (Norgate); Bungay (Mn); Beccles (Crf); Fritton, on sugar, under lime (Mr).
Recent Suffolk Status: Local.
Life history: Single-brooded. Seen at light traps in small numbers. Regularly found on Ivy blossom and Blackberries.
Identification: Unmistakeable.
Habitat: Gardens, parks and other urban areas with planted Limes and woodlands.Recorded in 40 (69%) of 58 10k Squares.
