Hemley and Kessingland (EMM. 1904, 81); Henham in 1934 (Btn); Bungay (Mn). Larvae sometimes plentiful on ash at dusk in late April at Waldringfield (Wlr). Two at light in Sotterly on 8 September 1937 (Gd).
Recent Suffolk Status: Fairly common and widespread.
Life history: Single-brooded. Records in Suffolk into October. Larvae have been found on Ash trees at dusk and also inside a bird box on an Ash tree in the daytime.
Identification: Unmistakeable.
