Morley's Final Catalogue: By no means an uncommon species about Ipswich, at Bentley Woods, Holbrook, &c; Bury, Stowmarket, Needham; Monks Soham occasionally (Vinter, Mly); Worlingham (Gs), Gorleston (Mr), Hopton, Aldeburgh.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Recorded from February to June in Suffolk. Larvae occasionally found on Honeysuckle in the county.

Identification: Shears looks slightly similar but lacks the thoratic crest and doesn't have the two oval marks joined.

Habitat: Woodland, scrub, hedgerows, gardens.
