Morley's Final Catalogue: Generally distributed, and occasionally quite numerous. During heavy rain, great numbers came in to light at Copdock Rectory late in the Augusts of both 1881 and 1894 (Hkg); it occurs thence to Fritton.
Recent Suffolk Status: Common, especially in the Sandlings and Brecks.
Life history: Single-brooded. Regular at light, usually in small numbers.
Identification: Both Gothic and Bordered gothic fly earlier in the year. Feathered gothic has very distinctive feathered antennae in the male.
Habitat: Heathland, acid grassland, woodland rides, parkland, gardens. Recorded in 50 (86%) of 58 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1881. Last Recorded in 2023. |
