Aston's Additions: First Suffolk capture was made by Mr. Chipperfield at Knodishall on 1.viii.1948 (Trans. S.N.S., Vol. VI, part III, p. 243) and it is now known from Easton Broad, Reydon, Walberswick and Aldeburgh. It has extended its ''Kent to Devon'' (Morley, 1937) range.

Recent Suffolk status: Common along the coast and Sandlings, largely absent from high Suffolk and scarce in the west of the county.

Life history: Single-brooded in the summer.

Identification: Compare with Scarce Black Arches, which is a smaller moth with finer cross-lines.

Habitats: Scrub, coastal sandhills, woodland, woodland rides.

Recorded in 35 (60%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1948.
Last Recorded in 2024.
