Status Morley's Final Catalogue: Very common in upland meadows about Ipswich; frequent throughout the entire County, from Bentley to both Gorleston and Lakenheath; often at light in May and July.
Recent Suffolk Status: Common and widespread. Occasional migrant influxes on the coast.
Life history: Double-brooded. Moths are easily disturbed by day and also come to light.
Identification: Common heath has strongly feathered antennae in the male. Dark markings are not so neat and it doesn't have dark veins.
