Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found by searching for spun-up Apple flowers.

Identification: Sloe pug has a distinctive pink 'waist' around the abdomen just below the thorax. This is black on Green pug. V-pug has the distinctive black V mark.

Habitat: Hedgerows, scrub areas, woodland edges, gardens.
