Recent Suffolk Status: Fairly common in the Sandlings and Brecks with scattered records elsewhere.
Life history: Single-brooded in one long extended brood. Emerging earlier with records from May onwards in recent times.
Identification: Grey pine carpet and Spruce carpet lack the sharp indent on the inner edge of the cross line.
Habitat: Heathland, Pine plantations, gardens. Recorded in 39 (67%) of 58 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1896. Last Recorded in 2023. |
