Morley's Final Catalogue: Not uncommon among pines. Bentley fir wood (Baylis); Copdock in August (Hkg); at Ipswich lights (Pyett); Playford, Needham; Aldeburgh (Ctw). Herringfleet (Crf), Fritton and Belton (Wiltshire). Brandon in 1896 (Mly).

Recent Suffolk Status: Fairly common in the Sandlings and Brecks with scattered records elsewhere.

Life history: Single-brooded in one long extended brood. Emerging earlier with records from May onwards in recent times.

Identification: Grey pine carpet and Spruce carpet lack the sharp indent on the inner edge of the cross line.

Habitat: Heathland, Pine plantations, gardens.
