Status Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time.
Recent Suffolk status: The first county record was of larvae found feeding on Sweet chestnut on 15/09/2024 in a south Suffolk wood (T. Prichard). More larvae were found at the same site later in the day also feeding on Oak (J. Spence, J. Chainey, N. Sherman, P. Bryant).
Life history: Single-brooded, flying in summer. Like Festoon, has an unusual slug-like caterpillar. Larvae in Suffolk were found to create feeding windows underneath the foodplant leaves, visible from above.
Identification: A small moth that could be confused as a micro species. Rests tent like and has a triangular wing with a curved costa. Can be both very dark brown and also yellowish.
