Morley’s Final Catalogue: Also on Scots pine, taken by Gibbs and Crutwell with the last kind, as well as at Flixton by the latter; Aldringham in 1929 (Whit). Icklingham and Tuddenham (Wrt).

Recent Status: A common species across Suffolk.

Life Style: A single brooded species flying from April to July and coming to light. The larvae feed on Pinus sylvestris. They hollow out a bud prior to hibernation and then feed in lateral shoots. They pupate in the larval habitation or spun among needles.

Identification: The smallest of the genus in Suffolk without the strident orange colour of the other species but the commonly white, grey and brown species can have brighter brown or orange brown markings. https://mothdissection.co.uk/species.php?Tx=Rhyacionia_pinivorana
