Life Style:
Single brooded summer species flying during the day till sunset and occasionally coming to light. The larvae feed from a silken tube on
Erica
and
Calluna
. The larvae spin a cocoon for hibernation in which they then pupate.
Identification:
A large
Ancylus
species with similarities to
A. achatana
