Morley's Final Catalogue: Not recorded from the County in Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status: First County record in 2005 (Purdis Farm, Ipswich - N.Sherman). Found to be a very local resident in a few woods in the south of the County from 2012 onwards, following the appearance of adults during a moth group survey in Old Hall Wood in the summer that year. These populations could have spread from the known population just over the County boundary in north Essex. Occasional records near the coast are either migrants or internal wanderers.

Life history: Single-brooded in summer. Larval records in the autumn, found by tapping branches with withered Oak, Sweet chestnut and beech leaves still attached.

Identification: Umistakeable.

Habitat: Woodland.
