Morley's Final Catalogue: Dr. N. F. Hele's record of Apamea connexa is sufficiently explicit (Notes Aldeburgh 1870, p.188); and now that the species is known to extend southwards as far, at least, as Norfolk little exception can be taken to it, despite Bloomfield's scepticism. Phalaris arundinacea, L., is abundant enough in Suffolk.

Recent Suffolk Status: Extinct. The last British record was in 1935.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Pale forms of Minor shoulder-knot are similar but only have a single dark bar in the middle of the forewing.

Habitat: Grassy areas in woodland.
