Life history: Single-brooded. Still recorded commonly in numbers at light, sugar and Ivy blossom. F. capucina is recorded from the county in small numbers.
Larvae are regularly found in Suffolk in late spring, mainly on Hawthorn and Blackthorn.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: Woodland, hedgerows, scrub and gardens.
