Morley's Final Catalogue: Frequent everywhere, even in hedge-shorn wilds of High Suffolk at Monks Soham and Dennington, extending to Gorleston.

Recent Suffolk Status: Now very local and much declined, with only a few records a year and even some years where it is not seen at all in the county.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Both Bordered gothic and Feathered gothic have black wedge marks in the outer area of the forewing - these are lacking in the Gothic.

Habitat: Marshes, wet woodland, river valleys, gardens.

Recorded in 40 (69%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
