Morley's Final Catalogue: Not uncommon in marshes and on boulder-clay. The colour-form fulva (stramineola, Dbld.), less frequent at Brandon, Brandeston, Beccles and Fritton: ante 1890. Ipswich (Miller) and recently at Fritton Lake Light.

Recent Status: Very common and widespread.

Identification: Easily distinguished by it's characteristic shape, often likened to a 'melon pip'. The Endemic British form stramineola is also still fairly frequent in the county.

Habitat: Damp woodland, wet meadows, fens and marshy areas, heathland and gardens.

Recorded in 53 (91%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1930.
Last Recorded in 2020.
