Morley's Final Catalogue: Scattered sparingly over the entire County. Playford (Nat. viii, 110; Ent. Wk. Int. i, 1856, 196). Ipswich (Garrett, Ml) and at electric lights there (Mly, Baylis); Blythburgh (Btn); Lowestoft in August (Entom. 1922, 258); Worlingham (Crf); Hopton (D). Ampton and West Stow (Wrt); Tuddenham before 1890 (Nurse), rare there in 1900 (Sparke); and again in west Suffolk during 1911 (Nurse).

Recent Status: Widespread and common.

Identification: Compared with Swallow Prominent this species has a shorter and broader white tornal streak.

Habitat: In a wide variety of habitats, particularly heathland with birch.

Recorded in 49 (84%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1900.
Last Recorded in 2020.
