Ampton and West Stow (Wrt); Tuddenham before 1890 (Nurse), rare there in 1900 (Sparke); and again in west Suffolk during 1911 (Nurse).

Recent Suffolk Status: Widespread and common.

Life history: Double-brooded.

Identification: Compared with Swallow Prominent this species has a shorter and broader white tornal streak.

Habitat: In a wide variety of habitats, particularly heathland with birch.
