Morley's Final Catalogue: Abundant everywhere from Bentley Woods to Gorleston. Frequently at Monks Soham light in early March.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Occasional records in December. Both sexes have been found resting on twigs of the foodplants at night. Larvae fairly regularly recorded in the spring in the county.

Identification: Sloe carpet flies later, has a pointed forewing and a white spot on the thorax.

Habitat: Woodland, hedgerows, gardens.

Recorded in 47 (81%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
