Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status: First Suffolk record was in 1999, at Landguard, Felixstowe (n. Odin & M. Marsh). Recently found to be a rare resident in the north-east of the county along the Waveney valley. Scattered records elsewhere are thought to be migrants/ wanderers.

Life history: As the name suggests, the foodplants are Small and Orange Balsam which are both introduced but naturalised plants. Adults fly in two generations per year with the summer generation generally darker in appearance.

Identification: Compare with Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet and Common carpet.

Habitats: Marshland and wet grassland.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
