Donash Wood (Hkg), Bentley (Pyett), at light in Bishops House at Ipswich 1925 (Bp.), Akenham, occasionally at Waldringfield (Wlr). For the duration of some ten days, about 1849, a dozen were shaken every morning from a hawthorn-hedge at Brandeston by Revd. J. Greene (id., lit. 10 Jan. 1901.). Recent Suffolk Status: Common. Has been a big increase in records in recent years following a period of relative scarcity.

Life history: Single-brooded in summer. Occasional records in the autumn in recent years.

Identification: Could be mistaken for Scalloped hook-tip, but that species is brown.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.
