Morley's Final Catalogue: Probably commoner here than elsewhere in Britain. Donash Wood (Hkg), Bentley (Pyett), at light in Bishops House at Ipswich 1925 (Bp.), Akenham, occasionally at Waldringfield (Wlr). For the duration of some ten days, about 1849, a dozen were shaken every morning from a hawthorn-hedge at Brandeston by Revd. J. Greene (id., lit. 10 Jan. 1901.). Monks Soham annually at light about 10.15pm., 1912-34 (Mly). Swefling; Sudbourn in 1903 (EMM. 1904, 80); Walberswick and Southwold in 1897 (Ctw). Stowmarket, Hardwick (Norgate), Tuddenham (Sparke), Brandon. Beccles, Bungay (Mn).

Recent Suffolk Status: Common. Has been a big increase in records in recent years following a period of relative scarcity.

Life history: Single-brooded in summer. Occasional records in the autumn in recent years.

Identification: Could be mistaken for Scalloped hook-tip, but that species is brown.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 52 (90%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1849.
Last Recorded in 2023.
